Fix a stuck seat belt

The problem of the seat belt being pulled and not returning to its place is one of the most common problems, and there are several causes related to this problem, such as a twisted seat belt, or a malfunction in the fastening ring. Stuck in the event that it does not return after withdrawing it or in the event that it is not possible to withdraw it:


1. Repair the belt that does not return to its place

-- Loosen the belt and try to pull it back slowly.

-- Pull the belt all the way out slowly, to get rid of any knots or kinks in the belt, and look for a sign of a twist.

-- Note the tie loop and the way the belt is pulled through it, and note where the belt is inserted, to make sure that there are no obstructions, and get rid of any wrapping that covers the parts of the belt.


2. Fix the belt that cannot be pulled out

- Loosen the belt and try to put it back into the compressor.


- Looking for plankton such as pebbles, and small objects that would impede the movement of the belt.


- Look for twisted loops in the belt loop, and try to straighten the belt completely to get rid of the problem, by loosening the buckle and correcting the twist.

- Test the belt by pulling it out, leaving it to return to its place, and trying to pull it 2-3 times hard and fast, which helps to loosen the twists, and restore the functional ability of the belt.


Changing the seat belt for the front seat

The seat belt for the front seat can be changed by following these steps:


1 - Choosing the right seat belt for the make and model of the vehicle, front seat belts are usually with triple attachment points.


2 - Changing the belt clip and attachment When changing the entire belt, changing the mounting points on the sides of the seat, by removing the cutting plate behind the trim using the same tool to remove the clips.


3 - Remove the spanners or screws with the wrench, being careful to choose the correct size of the wrench.


4 - Install the new belt, and all of its attachments, and inspect it to make sure it does its job properly.


Changing the seat belt for the back seat

Most modern cars have seat belts for the rear seats, and the difference between the front and rear seat belts lies in the way the shoulder belt is attached to the top of the rear seat, and the following are the steps for installing the rear seat belt when changing it:


-- Carefully remove the back of the belt, in order to avoid damaging or damaging it, while making sure to read the use manual that came with the car, to learn how to remove and install the belt.

-- Pushing the rear seat forward, to pull the seat belt attachments from behind, by pushing the seat cushion back, and pulling the seat back to rest on the floor of the vehicle.
